Discover the methods of making simple, strong joints that last for generations. Through a combination of class discussion, observation, and hands-on participation, students will learn about dado, miter, pocket, biscuit, dowel, and butt joints. Over the course of this 3-hour class, we’ll also discuss factors to consider when choosing which joint to use for your project. Learning these basic techniques will take your woodworking skills to the next level.
The price of this class includes materials.
Please come to class prepared with eye and ear protection and closed-toe shoes in order to use the equipment. We will provide eye protection if you do not have your own. We also have ear plugs available for purchase at $1.00 a pair. You are welcome to bring additional safety protection if desired.
A minimum of 2 students is required to conduct the class. If the minimum is not met within 48 hours of the start date, we will contact registered students and reschedule the class to a new date.
Please note: due to varying skill levels and class sizes, the amount of time required to complete the class may vary. For instance, a class described as a “2-hour course” may take anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 hours, since the focus is on teaching the skills and/or finishing the project. We will do our best to finish within the allotted time.
